This photo is from a series of bison portraits, which I photographed in 2024, all in black and white, and all in the 16:9 aspect-ratio (AKA 'Widescreen'), to reflect the cinematic quality of this iconic species, and it's place in the cultural history of the West.
This individual is from one of several North American Bison herds living in the UK. I would love to see this emblematic species in it's truly wild home teritory one day, and very much intend to do so as soon as I'm able.
Taken with a modern mirrorless camera, and ultra-sharp lens, it's suited to large prints, and like the bison themselves; wide open spaces.
